Description

This pamphlet is a facsimile reproduction of the handwritten original and includes a new title page. In it, Lincoln briefly describes his birth, his family origins, and key points of his life. A sketch of the cabin where Lincoln was born is featured on the cover. Facsimile of the original manuscript attested by David Davis, Lyman Trumbull, and Charles Sumner (Washington, D.C., March 20, 1872).

** spoiler alert ** My fiancé and I began this book in October of 2017. Possibly because this is a book where you could sarcastically say, "Gee, I wonder how it will end," we never really finished it, and a note about when we started it was all that really remained of it. On the day before the local library closed indefinitely, I decided to grab it, hoping that we could finally finish it. Last night (4/9/2020), we had about 168 pages left and I suggested we power through it. Thus ends the random part of this review.

Abraham Lincoln is one of the greatest Presidents who ever lived. However, there are some questionable things in his diary (that's what this is; when the compiler, Nathaniel Wright Stephenson, compiled this and called it 'An Autobiography...,' it was misleading). As most people know, Lincoln did not live long enough to write an autobiography. All that he left behind were letters, and speeches. Some of the letters are humorous.
