Jeff Wallace lives with his family in southwestern Virginia. He is the author of three deeply researched historical suspense novels. In 'The Man Who Walked Out of the Jungle,' the backdrop is 1970 Saigon, where military police investigator George Tanner observes the city's seething corruption, the turmoil of US troop-reductions underway, and--unfolding in the background--the invasion of Cambodia. This is tough-guy suspense fiction, no less precise to the history. Tanner enlists his Vietnamese contacts to discover the identity of a mysterious figure killed deep in the rain forest.
'Rapidan' opens in September 1862, as a wounded Confederate officer, having finished the first stage of his convalescence at the Chimborazo Army Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, moves to a private residence for the second stage. George Dewey Wallace (June 8, 1917 – July 22, 2005) was an American stage and screen actor. Wallace co-starred with Mary Martin in the Broadway musical Jennie and was nominated for a New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for playing the male lead in New Girl in Town opposite Gwen Verdon. He is also remembered for playing Commando Cody in the movie serial Radar Men from the Moon.
Early years
Wallace was born in New York City. When he was 13 his family moved to McMechen, West Virginia. While still in his teens Wallace worked as a coal miner and joined the Civilian Conservation Corps after it was created during the Great Depression.
He joined the United States Navy in 1936 and served for eight years through World War II. Wallace served in the U.S. Pacific Fleet, where he earned the title of light heavyweight champion.

Professional Biography
Over the past 30 years, John M. Wallace's work has focused on the well-being of African American children, youth and communities. He is the principal investigator on the University of Pittsburgh Center on Race and Social Problems’ Comm-Univer-City of Pittsburgh Project, an integrated program of research, teaching, and service designed to investigate and ameliorate social problems that disproportionately impact economically disadvantaged children, families, and communities. He is also the principal investigator on the Healthy Living, Healthy Learning, Healthy Lives Project—a community-based participatory research project that examines the correlates, causes and consequences of disparities in children’s asthma. Wallace is also the co-principal investigator on the Pitt Assisted Communities and Schools
