Melissa Jacobs is the Founder and Managing Editor of TheFootballGirl.com. She started TFG in late 2009 on the belief that female NFL fans deserve a community that goes well beyond Football 101, recipes and pink apparel. She has aimed to provide robust content ranging from fantasy advice to exclusive interviews that appeals to ALL fans of ALL levels. Melissa brings a unique and successful career in the NFL and beyond to TFG. Out of college, she was the youngest executive producer in the history of KNBR Radio in San Francisco, where she produced “The Razor and Mr. T.,” the highest rated show in its time slot, and covered the 49ers and Raiders. She then moved to ESPN in Bristol, CT where she produced national radio shows for Dan Le Batard and the late Dick Schaap before creating the Talent Production department for the television side. Love, life and linguine could be the title to my autobiography. I spent half my life working in restaurants, bars and bakeries. From high school as a waitress through my adult career as a public relations consultant, I worked with some of the top chefs, restaurants and purveyors in Philadelphia. I got a delicious education in food and spirits. And, I got a behind-the-scenes view of Philadelphia's restaurant world. In 2002, I left public relations and the restaurant world to pursue my dream of becoming a novelist. My first novel, LEXI JAMES AND THE COUNCIL OF GIRLFRIENDS was published by Avon Trade Paperbacks in April, 2005. My second novel, LOVE, LIFE AND LINGUINE is the combination of two of my passions: writing and food. I used my restaurant background as the backdrop for my novel. Passion, personalities, pressure.
