Andrew Christopher Denton (born 4 May 1960)[1] is an Australian television producer, comedian, Gold Logie–nominated television presenter and former radio host, and was the host of the ABC's weekly television interview program Enough Rope and the ABC game show Randling. He is known for his comedy and interviewing technique.[2] He is also responsible for introducing the troupe of The Chaser to Australian audiences.

Early life

Denton is the son of Kit Denton, writer and the author of the novel The Breaker, about Australian soldier Breaker Morant.[3] He went to Roseville Primary School in Sydney, before attending Blue Mountains Grammar School in Wentworth Falls. In 1977 he attended Guildford Grammar School in Perth. He

Andrew’s love of fashion and make-up started from a young age having grown up reading both Vogue & Harper’s Bazaar of which his mother had monthly subscriptions. Upon moving to London at 16, his interests in fashion and beauty only grew stronger and after a number of years gaining experience working freelance for numerous cosmetics brands, in 2016 he decided to undertake professional make-up training at Delamar Academy of Make-Up and Hair.

Upon graduating Andrew assisted an array of leading make-up artists in the industry including becoming first assistant to makeup legend, Mary Greenwell. Andrew was also a core team member of former Giorgio Armani Beauty Creative Director Linda Cantello, working on shows in Milan across all the Armani lines each season, including Paris for Armani Privé couture. Andrew's long standing relationship with Armani Beauty still continues as part of their VIP Makeup Team at the Venice Film Festival each year.
