Koop (band)
Swedish electronic jazz band
Koop was an electronicjazz duo from Sweden, consisting of Magnus Zingmark and Oscar Simonsson. Their music consists of mostly vocal jazz created by putting together thousands of different song samples and has been described as a blend between 1960s jazz, swing and Caribbean music.
Koop ended their collaboration in 2008, with Simonsson continuing to compose and tour under the name Koop Oscar Orchestra.[1]
History
Zingmark and Simonsson met while attending university in Uppsala and formed the band in 1995, before moving to Stockholm.[2][3] According to Simonsson, his passion for the genre came about by growing up in a house where jazz was frequently played, with his father playing jazz drums in his youth.[4] The name Koop is a shortened version of a Swedish word meaning "cooperation".[5]
Koop released their first album, Sons of Koop, in 1997, which featured a sound that made heavy use of loops and a more electronic direction than their future releases.[3]

Cast on the Kop
Alex Dunn met up with Cast and La's legend John Power to discuss a life-long love of all things Liverpool.
Kenny's back in the dugout at Anfield, Cast are back together. Is there a sense things have come circle? It's funny you've said that, I've never really thought of it like that. Kenny being back in the dugout certainly is. I guess in a way my life has come full circle too. Football-wise, I think Liverpool have been going a little askew for a few years now and I think Kenny's the man to put us back on track. He's trying to rediscover a spirit level that will take us back to the point where we want to be. I think spirit is what Liverpool has always been built on and it's that sense of knowing what we're about, having a clear identity, that has been lost a little. In football you can't build a great team on shifting sands. Those players need to know exactly what it means to play for Liverpool FC and I think Dalglish is the man to instil that belief. It's not been a bad week to be a Liverpool fan to be fair though...It's been a great week. I was actually backCopyright ©dewpant.pages.dev 2025
