Frank Sinatra is Hoboken’s most famous son. Though the talented singer moved out of town after he achieved fame, his Hoboken upbringing shaped his early career and imparted a cocky but relatable image, which helped make him an icon. The trajectory of his family’s life in Hoboken reflected the opportunities and divisions in early twentieth century urban America.

The American singer and actor was originally from Sicily and his songs echo Italian melodies, often taken from classical music, hence the most beautiful opera arias on the programme. The eminent bel canto opera composer Vincenzo Bellini also came from Sicily, so the repertoire will feature his most famous arias. There will also be film music, alluding to the artist's not entirely proven contacts with the Sicilian mafia. On stage, opera singers from the Italian association Opera da Camera di Roma, accompanied by a piano trio, will take the audience to the world of refined concerts from the nineteenth century, where classical music was for the audiences of the time as pop music is for today. Francis Albert Sinatra (; December 12, 1915 – May 14, 1998) was an American singer and actor. Nicknamed the "Chairman of the Board" and "Ol' Blue Eyes", he is regarded as one of the most popular entertainers of the 20th century.[2] Sinatra is among the world's best-selling music artists, with an estimated 150 million record sales globally.[3][4]
Born to Italian immigrants in Hoboken, New Jersey, Sinatra began his musical career in the swing era and was greatly influenced by the easy-listening vocal style of Bing Crosby.[5] He joined the Harry Jamesbig band as the vocalist in June 1939 before finding success as a solo artist after signing with Columbia Records in 1943, becoming the idol of the "bobby soxers". In 1946, Sinatra released his debut album, The Voice of Frank Sinatra. He then signed with Capitol Records and released several albums with arrangements by Nelson Riddle, notably In the Wee Small Hours (
