1). Linda, What is your personal background?

I am a full time registered nurse, Commander in the Unites States Public Health Service,with the Division of Immigration Health Services.
I was Commissioned in April of 2001 and was called to active duty on June 1 ,2001. I am currently the Supervisor of Managed Care and Chief Nurse for the Division of Immigration Health Care and over see a 35 Million Dollar budget for off site Health Care for illegal detainees in ICE Custody. We manage 14 service processing centers and over 400 jails through out the country.

I was born in Bethpage NY, to Greta and Luke Belsito on May 29,1957. I grew up in an athletic family with my dad being a soccer and lacrosse coach for 30+ years at Manhasset High School. My dad was one of the first men to play lacrosse back in the 40’s before lacrosse had protective gear and cool sticks. Biography

Linda Jo Van Eldik, PhD, is Director of the Sanders-Brown Center on Aging and the NIA-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Co-Director of the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute and the University Neuroscience Research Priority Area, and Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Kentucky in Lexington KY. Her background includes a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Duke University, postdoc in Virology and Cell Biology at Rockefeller University in NY, and faculty positions at Vanderbilt University and at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Van Eldik has received a number of honors during her career, including a Zenith Award from the Alzheimer’s Association and an NIA MERIT award. She is a fellow of the American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and a member of the National Advisory Council on Aging. Linda Jo Goldway Keen (born August 9, 1940, in New York City, New York) is an American mathematician and a fellow of the American Mathematical Society. Since 1965, she has been a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Lehman College of the City University of New York and a Professor of Mathematics at Graduate Center of the City University of New York.[1]

Professional career

As a high school student she attended the Bronx High School of Science. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the City College of New York, then studied at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, earning her Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics in 1964. She wrote her thesis on Riemann surfaces under the direction of Lipman Bers at New York University.[2]
